Privacy Policy

ManuscriptRx (“we”, “our”, “us”) provides AI-assisted pre-submission manuscript review. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights over it.

Information we collect

  • Contact information. When you submit a manuscript and pay for a review, Stripe collects your email address at checkout and shares it with us so we can deliver the review and follow up if needed. We do not maintain user accounts and do not require sign-in.
  • Manuscript content. When you submit a manuscript for review, we receive the file or pasted text you provide. If author-blind mode is enabled (the default), we strip apparent author names, affiliations, and contact information before sending the text to the AI provider.
  • Payment information. Stripe processes all payments. We receive only the amount, the email address Stripe collected at checkout, the Stripe session and payment-intent identifiers, and the last four digits of the card. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Usage analytics. We use PostHog (US Cloud) to record aggregate product analytics: page views, conversion funnel events, and which features you interact with. IP addresses are not stored; analytics events are tied to a randomized identifier, not your email.

How we use your manuscript

Your manuscript is sent to Anthropic’s Claude API for processing. Anthropic’s API terms include a no-training default: your content is not used to train models. We do not sell, rent, or share your manuscript with anyone else. Manuscript text is retained on our servers only as long as needed to generate the review and to deliver it to you; the JSON of the completed review is retained indefinitely so you can return to the review URL.

If you select the Reviewer Match add-on, we send author names to the OpenAlex public scholarly graph to look up publication histories. This is the only case in which the original (non-redacted) author information leaves our system.

Data retention

  • Source manuscript files: deleted after the review is generated.
  • Review output: retained indefinitely so the review URL remains accessible to you.
  • Email address (from Stripe checkout): retained for transactional email delivery and refund eligibility.
  • Stripe transaction records: retained per Stripe’s policies.

You may request deletion of any review or your associated email at any time by emailing privacy@manuscriptrx.com.

Your rights

Under the GDPR (EU/EEA), the UK GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to access, correct, port, and delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@manuscriptrx.com. We respond within 30 days.
