Terms of Service

Last updated: May 14, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of ManuscriptRx. By submitting a manuscript or paying for a review, you agree to these terms.

What ManuscriptRx is

ManuscriptRx is a pre-submission tool that produces AI-generated commentary on academic manuscripts. It is not peer review, not an editorial decision, not legal advice, and not a substitute for professional editing. Editors and reviewers at the journal you submit to will reach their own conclusions independently of anything we produce.

AI accuracy and limitations

Our reviewers are large language models. They can hallucinate citations, misread methodology, miss field-specific norms, or repeat plausible-sounding feedback that is wrong. You are responsible for verifying every substantive claim before acting on it. We provide the output as a starting point for your own judgment, not as authoritative guidance.

Acceptable use

  • You must own the rights to any manuscript you upload, or have the consent of the rights-holders.
  • You may not upload a manuscript that you received under a peer-review or editorial-review confidentiality obligation. Submit only your own work or work whose authors have explicitly authorized you to do so.
  • You may not submit content that is illegal, defamatory, or that infringes on another party’s intellectual property.
  • You may not attempt to extract our prompts, reverse-engineer the service, or scrape it at scale.
  • You may not use the service to generate content you then claim was written by a human reviewer in a peer-review process.

Payment, refunds, and pricing

Reviews are charged per submission via Stripe. Pricing is shown before you pay. We may change pricing at any time, but pre-paid reviews honor the price you paid. See our Refund Policy for details on when refunds are issued.

Intellectual property

You retain all rights to your manuscript. We claim no ownership over the text you upload or the AI-generated review delivered to you. Your review output is yours to use, share, ignore, or quote in your own revisions and response letters.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ManuscriptRx’s aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages including rejected submissions, lost research opportunities, or reviewer disagreement with our output.

Service refusal

We reserve the right to refuse service, reject submissions, or withhold future reviews from any user who violates these terms. Pending reviews from a user we have refused may be refunded at our discretion.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted on this page at least 14 days before they take effect.
